Present Simple and Present Continuous (4th of primary)

PRESENT SIMPLE

We use the present simple to talk about activities that people do.

For third person singular, we add s or es to the end of the verb. (He, She, and It).

For example:

  • My dad washes the car.
  • My mom does the gardening.
  • My sister plays the guitar.
  • I read my comics.
  • We go to school.
  • The swim in the afternoon.

We use a form of the auxiliary verb be and the base verb with the ending - ing.

For example:
  • I am eating a hot dog.
  • Harry is selling a lot of hot dogs.
  • People are waiting in a line.
  • He is sitting on chair.
