5TH OF PRIMARY

HELLO CLASS! 😄

Below you will see the explanation about the superlative that we saw in the zoom class.
(Debajo van a ver la explicación sobre el superlativo que vimos en la clase de zoom).

Superlatives, short adjectives

We use superlative adjectives to compare one noun in the context of a group.
The superlative is the one in the group that is most. For most one-syllable adjectives, we add “thebefore the superlative and the ending- est.

For example:
All my friends are tall, but Sofia is the tallest. (Tall)

For adjectives of two syllables ending in -y, we make the superlative form by changing y to i and adding est. 

Pretty- The prettiest

For example:
All the comedians at the festival were funny, but the first one was the funniest.

Happy- The happiest


Assignment:

Today you have some activities...

Like/ don't like

We use like and don't like to talk about preferences.
Like ✅
Don't like❌

Examples:

  • I like wearing party costumes. ✅ 
  • I like Pizza. ✅ 
  • I like ice cream. ✅ 
  • I like hamburger. 

  • I don't like masks. 
  • I don't like confetti. 
  • I don't like juice. 
  • I don't like painting banners. 
For third person singular, we use likes and doesn't like.
Examples:

  • He likes pizza. 
  • She doesn't like masks. 
  • She likes hamburger.
  • He doesn't like juice.

Replying to an invitation

When someone invites you to a party, thank him or her for invitation.
Reply "Yes" if you can come. Reply "No" if you can't come.
Use "because" to give a reason why.
Example:
Saying “Yes”
Saying “No”
A: Come to my party next month!

B: Sure! I’d love to! Thanks!
A: It’s my birthday next month. Can you come to my party?
B: Sorry, I can’t.
